LTG Puller mini's

Recommended Posts

I am going to try a little something different here. Please give me your input. I see alot of people are out of the USA and do not get a chance to see some of the great uniforms and medal groupings that this country has to offer. This country meaning our great HEROES. Then again, after 911 it will be hard even for us Americans to get into these museums too see these items. If you like I will continue showing more great heroe medal groups, uniforms etc.

All pics were taken by "ME" unless otherwise noted.

These are the only set of mini's I have ever seen of LTG Puller. They are located at the VMI museum in Virginia. These are original.

Looks like he had these mounted or remounted around 1953, The UN Korea was late being issues until 1954, I think he was CG at MCRD San Diego at the time and probably attended a few social functions.

The last 3 are very rare as full size

The VMI museum. Their website says that the exhibit should open in 2009, but doesn't give a more precise date.

Thanks Chris. Reason I ask is that I have a uniform that belonged to a Marine who served from late WW-I through the end of the Korean War. His ribbon rack is not in good shape and the bottom row is missing completely. I want to recreate his ribbon rack for display with the uniform with period ribbons. I have ribbons for everything except the Haitian DSM. I have had no luck whatsoever finding any info on the what the ribbon looked like or where to get a segment for the ribbon rack.

Here is the Haitian Distinguished Service Medal 1st style. This is very hard to find. It took me 20 years to find the six inches I have.

Thanks for looking.

Thank you for the photo. It will be most helpful. Are the edges actually yellowish gold in color or were they white that has yellowed over time?

Chris, just finding this. If you're willing to continue, I'm up for viewing. Unless you've done so in another thread. These groupings cannot be underestimated or lost to history. They are a one stop shop resume for those who've earned them.
