gwb123 Posted May 2, 2015 Share #1 Posted May 2, 2015 On the 40th anniversary of the fall of Saigon on Thursday, a group of Marines who were there that day returned to what is now Ho Chi Minh City for a memorial ceremony at the site of the old embassy, which is now the U.S. Consulate. They had been in charge of guarding the embassy and the defense attache office beside Tan Son Nhut airport, and were tasked with helping to get the last Americans out. http://www.omaha.com/news/world/last-us-marines-to-leave-saigon-describe-chaos-of-war/article_c4d13aca-f4a5-54e8-904f-b3a7e390b4ce.html
devildog34 Posted May 2, 2015 Share #2 Posted May 2, 2015 PBS is doing or may have already released a "The American Experience" series on the fall of Saigon. What an emotional moment that had to have been for not only the Americans present but those who came home having served and especially for those who lost loved ones. Won the battles but lost the public because of the politics and media. Semper Fi Kevin
