I thought it was kind of funny that it was listed as a 38 as well, some how a P39 turned it to a .38 sure wish it were true.
dskjl Posted April 29, 2015 Author #9 Posted April 29, 2015 I have seen the typos before on papers. man wouldn't be nice if it was a 38?

dskjl Posted April 29, 2015 Author #15 Posted April 29, 2015 Feed her some nine mm and take her to the park and let her bark. The Wife has already claimed it as hers and set a time to go the range.
doyler Posted April 29, 2015 #16 Posted April 29, 2015 The Wife has already claimed it as hers and set a time to go the range. Nice Everybody needs a wife like that. Good trade off she gets a P38 and you get to bring more military stuff home...win/win
dskjl Posted May 1, 2015 Author #18 Posted May 1, 2015 Thanks, the research has turned up a little and I'm hoping to find more, but with or without it it's a nice piece.
katieony Posted May 2, 2015 #20 Posted May 2, 2015 Very nice "souvenir" with its capture certificate. Congrats on a nice pick up! Mike
sundance Posted May 2, 2015 #22 Posted May 2, 2015 Please give us a range report when you can. Very nice pickup.
Lancer-86 Posted May 2, 2015 #23 Posted May 2, 2015 The 38 cal typo is very common. I would think that there was not much weapon knowledge by the clerks typing these forms up for the GI's, and the first number they saw would be a suitable caliber. Most likely in a hurry as well as the only pictures I've seen of this practice all have long lines of GI's with war booty waiting on their turn. Very nice p38
SFMike Posted May 3, 2015 #24 Posted May 3, 2015 I have my dad's HSc. Used to have the papers, long gone. The clerk typed the number on the mismatch mag insted of the actual SN.
