WWII USMC officers garment bag found at flea

WWII USMC officers garment bag found at flea. Its in very good shape. If anyone has any info on the name written inside it would be greatly appreciated. For anyone who is interested I paid $40.

 

This was found in Portland Oregon

It looks like this was Joseph A Gemmell, a comm guy who started working with the Air Wing in the mid-1950's.

He enlisted in the USMC Reserves in 1934 and spent most of WWII in the Pacific with the 3rd Marine Division.

The bag was mostly issued to officers in WWII (this one appears to be dated 1944). There is a modern day civilian version called the Skyroll.

This doesn't show his pre-war Reserve service but between that and active duty he spent 32 years with the Corps.
