sundance Posted April 26, 2015 Share #13 Posted April 26, 2015 Really neat. Sort of an unusual piece, named and reasonable price - nice score! The kind of stuff I like
Bob Hudson Posted April 26, 2015 Share #14 Posted April 26, 2015 It looks like this was Joseph A Gemmell, a comm guy who started working with the Air Wing in the mid-1950's.
Bob Hudson Posted April 26, 2015 Share #15 Posted April 26, 2015 He enlisted in the USMC Reserves in 1934 and spent most of WWII in the Pacific with the 3rd Marine Division.

Bob Hudson Posted April 26, 2015 Share #17 Posted April 26, 2015 The bag was mostly issued to officers in WWII (this one appears to be dated 1944). There is a modern day civilian version called the Skyroll.
Bob Hudson Posted April 26, 2015 Share #18 Posted April 26, 2015 This doesn't show his pre-war Reserve service but between that and active duty he spent 32 years with the Corps.
'Flage Guy Posted April 27, 2015 Share #19 Posted April 27, 2015 Wow, that's a nice one! $40.00 is a steal for one of those.
