Reference Orgel's appendix; 1912 Uniform Regulations page 149. With the Officer numbers down around 1200 in the early 20's not allot of these are about, especially in a matched pair. Orgel's comments are "The general styling is early, but set is unikely made by H&H when it was founded in 1926."

When these were officially replaced is debateable. Most certainly by 1926 and most certainly as the China Marine Emblem made its way into outfitters inventory. These pictured have the period "C" clip and as shown marked "sterling" on the wing and "10K" on the anchor. One feature certainly unique to this set, are a fully functional tiny roller lock clasp within the "C" clip. Upon first viewing these I never noticed until some time later. Have not seen others like this, certainly they are around. Have seen this identical emblem with H&H marking

Please note: I am seeking a cover emblem for this pair, will consider all offers
