Just got back from the flea market. First up is the lower pack. It's dated 1944 and is made by Boyt. I thought the name was pretty interesting. According to the family, he served in the Phillipines.post-134998-0-06386600-1429392308.jpgpost-134998-0-79633300-1429392316.jpgpost-134998-0-27489600-1429392324.jpgpost-134998-0-86392300-1429392334.jpg

Last is the WWII HBT cap. I've heard of them being used by the Navy and AAF but don't really know. The cap is unmarked with the exception of the size, and the condition is mint so I'm not sure if it's the real deal or a modern repro.post-134998-0-25353800-1429392623.jpgpost-134998-0-94707800-1429392630.jpgpost-134998-0-07667800-1429392638.jpg

When I served in the late 1970s, early 80s in the Air Force, we were issued "similar" caps that we wore with our olive utility uniforms. They weren't quite like that, but similar style cap. I'll see if I can dig up a picture..

Here is one in color. I'm the tall guy in the back with the dorky military issue glasses.. lol. But these were standard issue caps in the 70's through the 1980's in the Air Force. post-155295-0-97249100-1429395175.jpg

Isn't the cap the US Navy equivalent to the USAAF type A3 HBT cap ?
