Major Z Posted April 16, 2015 Share #1 Posted April 16, 2015 This is another installment of my postings on logistics organizations patches and their variants. The intent here again is to provide a visual reference of the many different versions of this patch. I would encourage other members to post their variants to build up the available information. If you're curious what the ADSEC was, here's a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADSEC. The lighting bolts striking the chain represents our will to break the chains of fascism in Europe. Here is my entire collection as a whole. I will break it down in to six sections (fronts and backs). Thanks for looking!
Major Z Posted April 16, 2015 Author Share #2 Posted April 16, 2015 Section A shows the first design of the patch. You'll notice there are only chains present. The first one is supposedly the first color choice for the lighting which is described as a salmon color.
Major Z Posted April 16, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted April 16, 2015 Section B shows the redesign of the patch to include the star. There are several versions present. The second one is likely a reproduction, and I posted the third in a previous link. There was conjecture that it is a German-made type.
Major Z Posted April 16, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted April 16, 2015 The next group shows some English-made types as well as typical types encountered for bargain prices!
Major Z Posted April 16, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted April 16, 2015 Next are the bullion types. I'm guessing these are mostly foreign-made examples.
Major Z Posted April 16, 2015 Author Share #6 Posted April 16, 2015 Next you'll see the ADSEC tabs and their variants (both above and below the shoulder patch)
Major Z Posted April 16, 2015 Author Share #7 Posted April 16, 2015 And finally, here are some special tabs for geographic locality, and also an error patch that wasn't completed. Thanks for looking and please add to this thread!
respectingthesacrifice Posted April 16, 2015 Share #8 Posted April 16, 2015 one more great post! Thanks for sharing, love those patches! Do you have the Oise tab also?
Major Z Posted April 16, 2015 Author Share #9 Posted April 16, 2015 The only OISE tab I have is in the last grouping (just above your post). It is sewn on to the patch directly. Are there other geographic tabs besides OISE/WESTERN/BREMEN ENCLAVE? I think I saw an EINDHOVEN once but I have no proof of its existence.
ocsfollowme Posted April 16, 2015 Share #10 Posted April 16, 2015 Absolutely stellar!! Thanks for educating us. I believe that there are about 6-8 other geographic locations that I have seen on the forum. Also, I have seen maybe a few others on very stellar bullion made ones too. I think an ASMIC pub had them in it.

tredhed2 Posted April 16, 2015 Share #13 Posted April 16, 2015 Just because there are lots of newbies on this site, to clarify, the patches involved in this thread are for COM Z, the well known abbreviation for Headquarters, European Theater of Operations, Communications Zone (now you can see why it's called COM Z). My dad wore this one and that's why I like it so much. He was assigned to the OISE (pronounced wahz) area but didn't wear the tab. ASMIC has pubbed numerous articles on the COM Z patch and all the tabs/scrolls that went with it. The COM Z patch is probably second only to USAREUR for the most tabs worn with any patch. ADSEC was well represented in this interest of collecting. Now that I'm done blah blah blahing, here are some of mine. Most are loose.

vzemke Posted April 17, 2015 Share #15 Posted April 17, 2015 Here are a few more variations from my collection: -Chain stitched with bullion details -Fully embroidered on repurposed german wool uniform cloth, with bullion details (untrimmed)
vzemke Posted April 17, 2015 Share #16 Posted April 17, 2015 and now for something completely different... Japanese made, silk embroidery. If you look too fast it almost looks like a basic US made version, which is really a testament to the skill of the artist that made this.
tredhed2 Posted April 17, 2015 Share #17 Posted April 17, 2015 Must be from Hashimoto....do I win?
vzemke Posted April 17, 2015 Share #18 Posted April 17, 2015 Most likely from Hashimoto, but it did not come from the hanging displays that were sold a few years ago.
