garandman114 Posted April 13, 2015 Share #1 Posted April 13, 2015 I have been on the lookout for a good WWII-type sun helmet for Marine WWII reenacting, but most originals seem a little overpriced or a little fragile/beat up for my personal tastes (I want a newish usable one). From what I can tell, the ones from the 1960's appear nearly identical to the WWII variant (with the addition of proper-style EGA). Would the more recent production sun helmets (60s and beyond) work for WWII? I don't care if it's newer production as long as the pattern/materials/look is correct. This is the one I had in mind: http://www.omahas.com/clothing/headwear-footwear/headwear/pith-helmets/pith-helmet-military-issue#.VSv9EmY9VRk -Charles
stealthytyler Posted April 13, 2015 Share #2 Posted April 13, 2015 There is an antique mall near me that has one of these hat/helmets with the EGA on it. I THINK it is around $40-$60. In very nice shape. I dont know if its wwii or post. I dont know much about them.
