northcoastaero Posted April 12, 2015 Share #1 Posted April 12, 2015 I am doing some research on the General Dynamics USAF F-111 Aardvark crew compartment oxygen regulators and oxygen mask hose end connectors for use with each type of regulator. I have seen and heard of the following oxygen mask hose end connectors: -Black 3-pin connector. Possibly used gray colored one early on also. -Silver 3-pin connector with a black upper half. This connector twists in the center. Used on the F-111D at RAF Upper Heyford. Connector dated 1986. -Gray and /or black quick disconnect (similar to WWII AN connection). There was a tall and short length version of these, similar to types used with inflight smoke/fire masks. -Possibility of adaptors accepting the 3-pin on top and having a quick disconnect on the bottom and vice versa. Any images from manuals, photos, and help with this topic would be appreciated-especially part numbers with the regulators. I would like to make an aircraft version to regulator(s) to connector(s) chart in the future. Thank-you.

northcoastaero Posted April 12, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted April 12, 2015 Croc, Thank-you again. I just took a look at a F-111F manual dated 1995. The same regulator is shown. It looks as if these two manuals show that a quick disconnect instead of a 3-pin connection is used at the end of the mask hose? Also, the possibility of adaptor connectors? mohawkALSE Posted September 9, 2017 Share #6 Posted September 9, 2017 Raising this from the dead. I have a Robert Shaw chest mounted regulator Ive had a while and never knew what it was used for except I can tell it was USAF type O2 masks that it has 3 pin female port and the CRU style dovetail mount. Could this possibly be for a later F-111 series aircraft? Has a similar setup as that one in the -1 but looks cosmetically different. If it was the correct Mfg PN I looked up, that Mfg PN 900-002-214 was issued in 1973. All the other info on it I couldn't find anything. What looks like a Customer PN listed on it is SLD11100203, which I thought ironic it has 111 in that #
