stratasfan Posted April 11, 2015 Share #1 Posted April 11, 2015 Hi! My GGUncle is wearing the patch of this insignia in a photo I have of him, taken in 1948 while he was serving in Germany. I came across a photo of this pin and was wondering what this would have been for? Where would you have worn a tiny pin like this? Thanks! I'm very interested in this. hardheaded Posted April 11, 2015 Share #2 Posted April 11, 2015 Hi! Looks like a DUI (Distinctive Unit Insigina) that could be worn on the straps on top of the shoulders or on collars of uniforms. HH
tredhed2 Posted April 12, 2015 Share #3 Posted April 12, 2015 What size is it? If it's approx. 1 1/2" H then it's a DI. If a 1/2" or so, then perhaps worn on civilian attire. DIs were usually worn on lower lapels, not collars. They were worn on epaulets ca. 1948 and later.
