Jon S Posted April 10, 2015 Share #1 Posted April 10, 2015 Is an August 1945 dated B-8 parachute as desirable as one dated earlier in the war? Thanks, Jon
WWII Parachutist Posted April 10, 2015 Share #2 Posted April 10, 2015 Chutes are just like field gear, late war dates are generally less desirable. Perhaps even more so, as parachute equipment rapidly changed during the war.

BlueBookGuy Posted April 11, 2015 Share #4 Posted April 11, 2015 In my opinion it depends upon what you would like to do. If collecting a series of different parachute models, an very late specimen will be less desirable. If needed a long time to complete a mannequinn you have put, say, in springtime 1944, it could be 100% OK since the final excellent result is what really counta - also considering that a late 1943 B-8 is virtually indistinguishable from a summer '45 one.
