I believe these were 70s production. Not particularly rare or anything

Thank you. Do you know where I could find additional info?

That's the most in-depth info on post produced war shells I know of. It's possible more night be out there in done reference books but I'm not certain

Between 15-20 years ago I picked up some helmets that had been DRMOed. All are swivel bale, Most are rear seam but there are a few front seam. There are a few liners but they are not really paired with the pots.

I haven't bought a reference book yet. I understand that maybe the book by Mark Reynosa wold be a good start.

I appreciate the article CWG linked at the top of this thread; I'm sure that sometimes it was FIFO and sometimes it was LIFO.

Anyway, here is one of the front seams. The "2B" is pretty clear but there seems to be a digit with a curved top at far left. Like "0 2B", "3 2B", "6 2B", or an "8 2B". I suspect there is another digit lurking between the '0/3/8' and the '2'. I've tried a little chalk and a little water but so far it eludes me. Any tips for bringing out the visibility are appreciated. Like I said, I got this through DRMO in the early 2000's so this helmet, in my opinion, was passed around by various units for over 60 years. It looks like there may be some grease pencil writing on the outside. The masking tape was also on several of the helmets and usually marked with USAF ranks and names.

Thanks for any insight!

Marshall
