GatorDoc Posted April 9, 2015 #1 Posted April 9, 2015 Hey guys, I was out digging around at the local military salvage yard looking for treasures. At the back of one of the large barns I found quite a few crates of different pouches. I included a picture of the one I stepped through. Seems they have been there for a long while. Anyway there were a few crates of a OD green roll type pouch marked Fragile Mortar and Pestle on the inside. thinking they were extremely common I did not get a picture and moved on. I decided to look into them today and cannot find a picture online. Does this type of pouch ring a bell with anyone? I am tempted to go back out there and grab a few. I included a few pictures of the pouches I did get a picture of. Pretty neat to know this stuff is still out there. G
McDermut99 Posted April 9, 2015 #2 Posted April 9, 2015 I believe the dark OD first aid pouch on the top row at left is late-WWII.
RustyCanteen Posted April 9, 2015 #4 Posted April 9, 2015 Bottom row left appears to be WWI Or very early WWII. For a short time the pattern was still in manufacture. The other two OD3 pouches in the photo are British made. RC
TheGrayGhost Posted April 9, 2015 #6 Posted April 9, 2015 Looks like a mixed bag but some worthwhile pieces, so long as the price is right.
RustyCanteen Posted April 9, 2015 #7 Posted April 9, 2015 My fault can you delete my post? You're not wrong at all; I merely meant that it could also be very warly WWII production. RC
