Very nice! How bad was it when you picked it up? The end result is stunning. Looks factory new!

 

...now we just need a video of it in action!!

I regret not having any before shots. There were "pick holes" in both tanks (Like someone had hit the tanks with a pick to demill them).

The first thing I did was to have all the metal sandblasted. The holes were repaired with fiberglass and auto bondo. I recreated the seam with J. B. Weld.

I used Walmart O.D. Camo paint, and gave it a clear lacquer finish.

Great job. I am doing a restoration and a friend suggested JB Weld on part of it. How was your experience with it?

After finishing the tank, I found a tool bag. I then searched ebay for several weeks to find similar tools:

A great finishing touch, very complete well done!

 

If you ever find a spare deflector tube/ lock nut and safety plug assembly, please let me know!
