Morlok Posted April 8, 2015 Share #4 Posted April 8, 2015 Very nice! How bad was it when you picked it up? The end result is stunning. Looks factory new! ...now we just need a video of it in action!!
strawberry 9 Posted April 8, 2015 Share #5 Posted April 8, 2015 Nice flamethrower. What did you have to do to it during the restoration? Do you have before pics?
Steve D. Posted April 8, 2015 Author Share #6 Posted April 8, 2015 I regret not having any before shots. There were "pick holes" in both tanks (Like someone had hit the tanks with a pick to demill them). The first thing I did was to have all the metal sandblasted. The holes were repaired with fiberglass and auto bondo. I recreated the seam with J. B. Weld. I used Walmart O.D. Camo paint, and gave it a clear lacquer finish. thorin6 Posted April 8, 2015 Share #9 Posted April 8, 2015 Great job. I am doing a restoration and a friend suggested JB Weld on part of it. How was your experience with it?
Steve D. Posted April 8, 2015 Author Share #10 Posted April 8, 2015 I prefer the fast drying J.B. weld. It dries in about 10 minutes.

Steve D. Posted April 15, 2015 Author Share #24 Posted April 15, 2015 After finishing the tank, I found a tool bag. I then searched ebay for several weeks to find similar tools:
