Martinjmpr Posted October 3, 2023 Share #57 Posted October 3, 2023 Here are a few of my vehicle photos: First photo: From 1989, this was our M577 Command Track "Chester the Molester" in Ansbach, Germany (1st Armored Div HQ) at our local training area. I'm in the command hatch. I'm not sure what this pattern was called but note that it doesn't have much of the tan or sand color, mostly just greens and browns. Given how green Germany was, this was probably the best camo pattern for the area where we were expected to fight the commies. Second photo was also an M577 command track but was taken half a world away in the Republic of Korea. I was in 2nd ID HQ at this time. Camo pattern appears to be very similar. Third, fourth and fifth photos were from 1997 - 98, Operation Joint Guard. I was with a USAR MP Company based out of Raleigh, NC (805th.) The QRF "turtleback" HMMWV (M1025 I think was the designation) was solid green. The other HMMWV was in the Euro pattern camo. First photo taken in Hungary, second in Croatia. Final photo is just outside the gate at Taszar Air Base in Hungary. We were preparing to escort a convoy of HETT's with M1 Abrams tanks. You can see the camo pattern on both the HMMWV and the tank. Appears to be a green-dominant Euro patten. Note that all these vehicles have the prominent "SFOR" (Stabilization Force) painted on them. Ours were only written in Roman letters, because we only operated in Hungary and Croatia. Those that operated in Kosovo or Serbian parts of Bosnia also had the SFOR designation painted in Cyrillic (Russian) letters.
