New USMC Helmet opinions on shell pls

Recommended Posts

Maybe it was painted that way for Vietnam or Korea?

I am sure they were still using WWII surplus helmets during both of those wars.

I have a rear seam M1C with sewn on chinstraps that was used during the Vietnam era.

You could be right although I don't see evidence that it was painted any color than the original WWII OD and the brown camo. I thought that they repainted the surplus shells.

I realize that I cannot place it anywhere for sure and I have come to like it as is. I do wonder where its been and who it served. If only Militaria could talk.

Thanks for your comments!

Thank you to all that have served our country and to your families that have sacrificed without your presence at home. Thank you to all that have given their lives for my freedom and to their families that suffer. May God bless you!
