Fredoc Posted April 1, 2015 Share #1 Posted April 1, 2015 I bought this cover years ago and forgot it was named on the beach side. I had it displayed on the green side. Now of course I would like to search the name. But I don't have acces to the Muster rolls. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Fredoc Posted April 1, 2015 Author Share #6 Posted April 1, 2015 The only match I found. Name: Robert D Gaudin Muster Date: Oct 1944 Rank: Private First Class Station: Headquarters Company, Transient Center, Fmf, Pacific, % Fleet Post Office, San Francisco, Calif Thanks that was fast. There is a corporal rank on the green side, but I guess this could have been done by an other Marine later on.

Or he could have been a Cpl before being discharged but this is the latest date I could find. MasonK Posted April 1, 2015 Share #8 Posted April 1, 2015 Nice find! According to the information provided for his burial, he only made it to PFC: Link to his Findagrave memorial: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Gaudin&GSfn=Robert&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GSob=n&GRid=49670481&df=all& I found one article about him. Appears he was once commander of his local American Legion. You may want to reach out to them to see if they have any other information on him.
