Hi all,
I had a camera out so I thought I would share this unusual little group that I picked up from Scotty some time back. Here is a patch and a bracelet that belonged to Peg Hunt. The Women's Ambulance and Defense Corps of America was created in November 1940 in L.A.The national Commander was Victoria Brown. The ladies served as Chauffeurs,Ambulance drivers, and did a number of other home front related duties. There is not much I could find online about this "unit",but I did find a few interesting photos and links.

Here's a post on the Forum showing a nice WADCA group:

Here is an excerpt from the book:The US Home Front 1941-45 By Alejandro de Quesada that tells a bit more about these ladies.

Very nice group of items!

The book "Dressed for Duty" shows the standard khaki WADCA patch as shown on here. There is an over-sized WADCA patch with a white backing. This version has the letters in a different position where the D is on the eagle's chest rather than the A. I zoomed in on the last picture and believe the letters match what is in the book but am not positive. The book also shows an unheard of WADCA patch with a blue backing, gold letters and a white eagle.
