Greg Robinson Posted February 1, 2007 Share #1 Posted February 1, 2007 I think this is the pack that pre-dated the adoption of the USMC version of the M1910 haversack. Got to be a rare item. I put a bid on it but then decided I don't need to go that far back with USMC gear and to tell you the truth I simply can't afford that stuff. To go with this pack you'd need the USMC eagle snap gear and that stuff is very rare and expensive. So here it is for you "Old Corps" USMC collectors. RARE USMC DATED 1911 PACK? Greg Robinson Posted February 1, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted February 1, 2007 I guess you didn't fully read my posting. I'm handing this item off to the membership plus I emailed a "head's up" to Alec. There ain't NO way I can afford to get into pre WW1 USMC gear. Even if a miracle occurred and I scored that old pack....then I'd HAVE TO HAVE a set of USMC eagle snap web gear....and we both know how outrageous that stuff is. Bad enough that I got a lot of money already in USMC gear from the post WW1 thru early Vietnam period. But....I agree....it's a nice item and one we'd all like to find at some out of the way antique shop described as "old military pack" and selling for very reasonable money.
