ASMIC2971 Posted March 27, 2015 Share #1 Posted March 27, 2015 Lately I was on vacation and naturally found a nearby Army Surplus Store. A ride on the metro system and a short walk later these came off the racks and into my hands. First up is the oldest one I picked up. I normally don't buy this style uniform, but when everything is present and badges out to a 2 war vet I decided to grease the wheels with the shop. ASMIC2971 Posted March 27, 2015 Author Share #2 Posted March 27, 2015 Digging through a stack of BDU's I came across one that had a Army Diver Badge on it. As I pulled it out of the pile the rest of the uniform came to light. Low and behold, three were mixed in the pile. I also picked up a fourth uniform to the same Special Forces Master Sergeant. All of the uniforms are void of patches and even an American Flag on the right sleeve.
ASMIC2971 Posted March 27, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted March 27, 2015 The next shelf over was full of three and six color desert patterns. I passed on a few examples as the insignia was not that great. However, stuffed in the piles next to each other were these two uniforms. Preliminary research shows that he was an Eastern Orthodox Priest, one of six, in the Army at one point.
ASMIC2971 Posted March 27, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted March 27, 2015 I had originally left this uniform behind due to the fact that it was stripped. For a day I kicked myself for doing it but thanks to another member I came to my senses and went back. It is hard to tell, but the ghosts of the patches clearly show Ranger Scrolls were worn on both sleeves, as well as a Ranger Tab on the left. ASMIC2971 Posted March 27, 2015 Author Share #6 Posted March 27, 2015 Well I am glad I went back for the Ranger BDU. This one was pulled out as well. Not sure how I had originally missed it, or if it was put out after I had left, either way it was a no brainer to snag it. Overall I didn't find any patches for my collection I could not live without, but at least I found something and for that I am happy.

ASMIC2971 Posted March 28, 2015 Author Share #13 Posted March 28, 2015 Thanks for the comments guys. Arch, regardless I was going back to get that Ranger BDU. Your wisdom hastened my second trip. Most of these will eventually make their way to the FS page once I decide what I want to keep.

Dakota Posted April 4, 2015 Share #15 Posted April 4, 2015 Great pickups. Wish that ranger one was patched though! The SFs are an absolute thrill nonetheless. D
