o6ret Posted March 23, 2015 Share #1 Posted March 23, 2015 I would like some help dating these wings. What is the significance of the "Imperial" mark? Thanks.
tomcatter Posted March 23, 2015 Share #2 Posted March 23, 2015 Original wings from WWII. Imperial was a prestigious wings Maker, purchased by H&H in 1942 if I remember well.
pconrad02 Posted March 23, 2015 Share #3 Posted March 23, 2015 If you are going to collect Navy wings, this book: United States Navy Wings of Gold from 1917 to the Present:by Tomas Carmichael (Author), Ron Willis (Author) http://www.amazon.com/United-States-Navy-Wings-Present/dp/0887407951 Is a must have! tomcatter Posted March 24, 2015 Share #5 Posted March 24, 2015 Well, basing on your photos, this is a full size (2,75") Naval Aviator wing, made by Imperial / H&H in the 1940's (from WW2 to KW), and it's probably made of brass, with Gold plating. There is nothing more to add. I hope this will help.
