I got this today from SSgt Mike Linscott, who is discussed here:

http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/171611-46th-scout-dog-platoon-grouping/?hl=%2B46th+%2Bscout

He found this spoon...he originally got it after his unit was searching a VC bunker complex after it was plastered by B-52's north of Tay Nin (?)...it caught his eye so he stuck it in his pocket.....it still has mud/food stuck to it and looks to be made from aircraft aluminum.

Thanks for sharing. They were very resourceful. They used most anything that we discarded or they could capture.

Very interesting artifact. So nice to have with the provenance!

Nice piece, and a typical Vietnamese/Chinese shaped spoon. (Same shape as you'll find with your miso soup at the local Vietnamese or Chinese restaurant.)

it could have also been used as the rice server to scoop a serving of rice from the cooking pot

interesting piece
