Sabrejet Posted March 17, 2015 Share #1 Posted March 17, 2015 .....ahead of this year's Tankfest. "The engine needed to be fitted at a 25 degree tilt, which was achieved by lengthening and shortening the chains suspending it. In this photograph Museum Workshop Technician, Brian has one foot on the tank and another on the engine to help guide it in. The engine weighs just over 2 metric tonnes and the Workshops used the Museum's mobile Atlas 6500 crane which is mounted on a Foden chassis to lift it." Garandomatic Posted March 17, 2015 Share #4 Posted March 17, 2015 SO is that the famed Chrysler Multibank? I was expecting to see a GAA V8.
B229 Posted March 17, 2015 Share #5 Posted March 17, 2015 SO is that the famed Chrysler Multibank? I was expecting to see a GAA V8. It is neither. Although "Fury" was supposed to be an M4A3E8, which would have the Ford GAA V-8, it was actually an M4A2E8. That's a GM 6046, which is two in-line six cylinder diesel engines joined together. The Chrysler Multibank was only used in the M4A4. So, no Mopar in "Fury".

willysmb44 Posted March 21, 2015 Share #8 Posted March 21, 2015 I'm assuming they'll be keeping this tank in it's film guise for a while. You get terrible gas mileage?!?! Yeah, and the battery pack is bigger than your living room!
