siege1863 Posted March 17, 2015 Share #1 Posted March 17, 2015 One Hundred Francs allied military currency note signed by twenty (one man signed twice) men of the 422nd Infantry Regiment of the 106th Infantry Division. Eighteen were taken prisoner during the mass surrender of the regiment, with two dying in captivity. The other two were killed in the fighting on December 22. Perhaps a forum member with better resources can identify the man who signed as "Sgt. Simpson." I find three men with this surname who were sergeants in the 422nd and made POWs--Allen W., James L., and William H. Any one of these three in Company B?
