stealthytyler Posted March 13, 2015 Share #1 Posted March 13, 2015 Did the military use the 1918 made 1911 pistol mag pouches in WWII? Here is a picture of one:
RustyCanteen Posted March 13, 2015 Share #2 Posted March 13, 2015 Absolutely. They were treated as any other pouch would have been; totally serviceable.

RustyCanteen Posted March 13, 2015 Share #4 Posted March 13, 2015 Here is a photo taken not long after the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, and you can see the same sewn style pouch in use.
Fausto Posted March 13, 2015 Share #5 Posted March 13, 2015 Hi, I totally agree with RustyCanteen... And after looking at a bunch of WWII pictures I incline to think that the use of WWI pouches in WWII was even wider that the use of the M1923 pouches. They were made by billions in 1917-18-19... Even in the surplus market you can find many many more WWI pouches, mint and unissued, than M1923 pouches. Get a look at eBay... Here some pictures to add to the nice one posted by RC... You can see WWI pouches in Normandy, Sicily and worn by airmen. The most amaizing, in my opinion, is the one taken in Vietnam... Fausto
