mark leonard Posted March 10, 2015 Share #1 Posted March 10, 2015 This is an interesting page from the log book of Paul F Grover , an A4 pilot with VA-195. On Sept. 22 1962 the page is noted EJECTED Lost at sea. A mid air collision involving two A4's and an F3H flown by LCDR John Truman "JT" Parks with VF-193. The following info is from the website ejection-history.org. "Refueling from an A4 buddy tanker and his wing man at night south of Okinawa. After JT completed refueling he hit his after burner , accelerated and collided with the buddy tanker. Following the collision JT's Demon went almost straight down with his after burner still lit-he never ejected. The pilot of the A4 buddy tanker ejected and his wing man, whose engine flamed out after ingesting FOD from the collision, also ejected . Both A4 pilots were picked up."
