8thairforce Posted March 5, 2015 Share #1 Posted March 5, 2015 I am pleased to share with you my first piece of a B-24. I recently acquired this 43 dated Bendix Airspeed instrument. I have a big shelf to fill with B-17 and B-24 cockpit pieces / instruments and this is my first piece ! I should imagine the yellow white and red lines which have been put on top of the glass and then varnished over represent stall and maximum speeds ect, can anyone help me with the significance of the speeds at 110, 130 and 180 Knots ?? I hope you enjoy the pictures. Jim

phantomfixer Posted March 5, 2015 Share #4 Posted March 5, 2015 110 could be your approach stall speed ie flaps and gear down...and 130 your take off stall speed, clean, 180 never exceed speed or never exceed with gear down...just a guess...someone might have the -1 or actual B24 time who might know for sure
bobatl Posted March 7, 2015 Share #5 Posted March 7, 2015 That might be for a PB4Y but it's not for a B-24. The Army doesn't like to get tied up in knots.
