patches Posted January 26, 2018 Author Share #76 Posted January 26, 2018 A Chaffee tank of the New Jersey National Guard's 102nd Cavalry with it's unit crest painted on it's turret (I image it's on both sides). Uncertain when it was taken, it wont be late WWII as the man in the drivers hatch is wearing the M1947 HBT shirt so would it be Post War period, the Korean War Period when the unit was redesignated Armored Cavalry, it certainly will be before 1954, as the men are not wearing the U.S.ARMY tapes sewn above their Fatique pockets. Unicorn Posted June 30, 2021 Share #95 Posted June 30, 2021 81st patch with the branch insignia of the units that made it up. Ignore the Task force and Operation things... someone was infected by the good idea fairy. We technically were all part of B btry since we got attached to them, but the engineers outnumbered them, and we never wanted to be part of an artillery battery in the first place. It was one of our guys who drew and painted this so he made sure to show the separate units.
patches Posted July 26, 2021 Author Share #96 Posted July 26, 2021 An interesting find, an early WWII one of the 23rd Infantry's DI, a stylized one, as a wall plaque, but note the WE SERVE Scroll, the scroll with motto won't be added till the late 60s. Officer is one Colonel H.E. Fuller who would go on to lead the 110th Infantry 28th Infantry Division.
