Spearhead Posted February 24, 2015 Share #1 Posted February 24, 2015 Can someone please assist me in narrowing down the era on these two different officer pin-back collar EGAs? A. It has the Meyer shield and fire bronze marked. Larger pin safety catch. B. It is only marked sterling with very hard to see pin safety catch. The continents look pressed into the globe. I was thinking maybe for late version officer epaulette. Thanks for the assitance. I've looked through the previous posts but didn't come across B. I thought I remembered someone posting something like A, but I could not find the post. Thanks much, Patiently awaiting the publishing of the EGA book
Brig Posted February 24, 2015 Share #2 Posted February 24, 2015 Both are Meyers patterns, used in the 20's-50's in various degrees, Fire Bronze being a big thing late 20s-30s and sought after in collector circles. Continents as part of the globe are earlier examples, you see it a lot with early Gemsco patterns amongst others

usmcaviator Posted March 5, 2015 Share #4 Posted March 5, 2015 Brig is spot on with that assessment. This style device was in use for decades, only changing in construction, material, and method of attachment. I would say yours fringe on the early 1920's to late 1920's.
