It looks like the Cover in the bottom photo is one of the odd-ball Covers with dark O.D. trim and the different construction than the "normal" cross-flap covers. First one is Id'd to Sgt Stanley R Krol, a demolitions expert in the 20th Marines and 4th Engineer Battalion. He served on Kwajalein, Saipan, and Iwo Jima.
