Those are some beauties, Tom! Interesting variety of unit markings too.

 

I have a bit of archives files that came in on 2 Id'd canteen covers. I'll have to post that later tonight

Mandy, a very fine Cover collection.

 

It looks like the Cover in the bottom photo is one of the odd-ball Covers with dark O.D. trim and the different construction than the "normal" cross-flap covers.

If so, that's the first one I've ever seen besides the one in post #43.

Got research back on 2 canteen covers. First one is Id'd to Sgt Stanley R Krol, a demolitions expert in the 20th Marines and 4th Engineer Battalion. He served on Kwajalein, Saipan, and Iwo Jima.

This unmarked, unsoiled and unlabeled one came out of an Okinawa Marine's footlocker, with a 1943 GP& F Co canteen and a 1944 Foley cup.
