CTI1610 Posted February 15, 2015 Share #1 Posted February 15, 2015 Really could use some assistance nailing down the colors of rates B and C shown below. As my eyes see them, A and D are gray and khaki, respectively. If that is the case, then what in the world are B and C? My color-challenged eyes tell me that B is a really, really dark khaki. I have no idea where to begin with C. The crows all have white eyes, so a dye job seems unlikely. Any thoughts?
History Man Posted February 15, 2015 Share #2 Posted February 15, 2015 C is green which would go on the arm of a green tunic used by CPO's and Officers. I believe they were referred to aiviation greens or working greens. Philip

sigsaye Posted February 16, 2015 Share #4 Posted February 16, 2015 Agree, faded gray. If they were for the Aviation Greens, they would be on wool
David Minton Posted February 16, 2015 Share #5 Posted February 16, 2015 I agree that C looks like gray. I picked up three similar ones recently on eBay. Mine seem brand new, so I think they are just an off color. I am not sure on your B example. I could go either way on that one; either khaki or gray. topdcnut Posted February 17, 2015 Share #7 Posted February 17, 2015 These are unused patches, were does one get fadded from? Collect for a while and you will see these color variations in the slate grey and not be amazed.
sigsaye Posted February 19, 2015 Share #8 Posted February 19, 2015 They may be un used, but depending on where they've been for the last 60 years they could have oxidized from day light, humidity, any number of natural causes. Not saying there were not color variations, but they are not for the Aviation Green uniform
