WW2JAKE Posted February 17, 2015 #26 Posted February 17, 2015 Glad you think so, but Johnson's was a tailor shop that was still in business in the late 80's. I used to travel to Hong Kong three to four times a year, and on one trip I searched for old tailor shops to find insignia. Johnson's had none but they did still have photos of numerous tour jackets they made over the years. Also, that is a interesting avatar you are using. Do you mind if I ask where you lifted the image from? The reason I ask is I own the original one that was used in the movie and I bought it from one of the lawyers that worked on the Production. It was a gift to her, when the movie wrapped. I'm sure if we look around the forum, we can find where I have posted it. not sure whats going on with the avatar... but i actually happened to have one page where its posted bookmarked http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/44639-tiger-stripes/page-47?hl=kurtz&do=findComment&comment=230035 its post 1174 on page 47
RustyCanteen Posted February 17, 2015 #27 Posted February 17, 2015 Like everyone has said, these are business cards..which is why they look like the 'other' kind of business cards. It's easy to see where the confusion is given the translations on the cards (which leaves the door open for reading double entendres into their meaning). But in this case, they are what they say they are; tailor shops. Nice cards, no less an important piece of ephemera a sailor or Marine would have picked up.
empireguns Posted February 17, 2015 Author #29 Posted February 17, 2015 I just saw that on the Time magazine post pretty cool to have THE magazine from the movie.
deadpeoplesjunk Posted February 25, 2015 #30 Posted February 25, 2015 Glad this post has a ''Happy Ending'' lol
