Cap Camouflage Pattern I Posted February 14, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted February 14, 2015 They look like the fakes sold in surplus stores. The ones with green fuzes seem like that to me but the ones with blue spoons are training grenades I think. I'm pretty sure they just used real training fuses with fake bodies.
garandman114 Posted February 14, 2015 Share #7 Posted February 14, 2015 Looks mostly like the standard surplus store grenades with dummy fuses, good for painting up for display though.

Cap Camouflage Pattern I Posted February 14, 2015 Author Share #9 Posted February 14, 2015 Ah, dang, well, that's a waste of $45, I guess I'll keep the real fuzes and toss the rest.
SFMike Posted February 15, 2015 Share #10 Posted February 15, 2015 Don't know if I would say fake-they look like surplus training grenades used over and over. They just put new fuzes in. Blue indicated training and they just "popped." They were only used occaisionally and empties or solid types were more common. Lots of training barracks would have a bunch of these and guys would toss them around for practice time permitting. There would always be an area marked off for this. Cap Camouflage Pattern I Posted February 15, 2015 Author Share #11 Posted February 15, 2015 The green fuzes seem almost identically to the blue except for paint.
Big Al Posted February 16, 2015 Share #12 Posted February 16, 2015 The M26 "Lemon" grenade is definitely a fake. Real ones were made from sheet steel, lined with notched wire fragmentation metal and filled with Composition B plastic explosive. The plastic explosive makes real ones very difficult to deactivate. So, the fakes are made from cast-iron.
