WW2JAKE Posted February 13, 2015 Share #1 Posted February 13, 2015 sorry if this isnt the right place i assumed it'd go herebut i've always loved seeing the strange things people come up with to use as helmet stands. candle sticks, plant holders, large spools, bottles, whatever it is i searched but only found individual threads for each onethis one is one of the more normal ones i think it might be a candle stick with the top piece missing because there is a hole in it, i found it for $2 recently and took it because its weighed down in the base and even with a helmet on it, it is almost impossible to knock down. you'd have to really try... but i painted it and put padding on the top and got this nice stand (debating repainting a different color)

Bugme Posted February 13, 2015 Share #13 Posted February 13, 2015 Some of the many that I've made:Plate Holder from Hobby Lobby. These are great for those M1917's in which the owner decided to paint the top instead of the front or sides:Wire Plate Holder from Hobby Lobby. These give the helmet a slight forward tip for display:The stands I sell on eBay:

anton67 Posted February 14, 2015 Share #15 Posted February 14, 2015 I like the plate holders for the WWI lids. NOYCE!!! Looks like our ideas for helmet stands are similar. Thank you for the kind comment WW2Jake. The new ones I make are cheap. They are a dow which is cut down into 5-6 pieces mounted to a wood plaque. The wood plaques are $1.27 each and the whole Dow is around $5. So for around $12 you can make 5 stands and then paint them white with ceiling paint. Here is a photo with the dows cut next to the finished stand. Cost is a factor when you have a lot of helmets to display. Oh and I put felt on the tops.
