I figured I'd start with this letter... Co C 27th Infantry

Recommended Posts

I think you might enjoy a family piece that I'm hoping to inherit in the near future. Pvt John Collins was assigned to Co C 27th Infantry. His job was to assist and protect the Chaplain. The MOS or military occupational skill Chaplain Assistant or 56M would not be created until Dec 28, 1909. I had no idea about this until my father pulled out a letter of recommendation from the Chaplain about a year ago. I enlisted in the Army as a Chaplain Assistant in 2007. I'll have to find the other letter that speaks of Pvt Collins serving under CPT Pershing.
