Flea Market Finds

Recommended Posts

I bought this USMC bracelet for 10 dollars at the flea market. I checked the Internet for a Carl R. Boberg and found mention of some disciplinary records on Ancestry.Com which I don't have a subscription to but if someone else does it would be much appreciated to find out a little bit more about this individual.

I picked up this I'm guessing paperweight as it is too bulky at 2 1/2 inches and heavy for a challenge coin. It is for the USS Sampson DDG 102 from their Engineering Department. The images on this paperweight are shallow and almost looks like lasers were used.

Love the dog tags and the bracelet. Did a quick search on Boberg. Enlisted in 1938 and was with the 2nd defense battalion until 1943.

Forgot to mention he was with the 2nd Anti aircraft battalion in 1944 and later in the 2nd marine division at Okinawa.

I got these 4th ID jungle jackets for 12 dollars apiece. I believe I've identified the former owner of these uniforms from his obituary. His name was Fernando "Fred" Aguas who served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970.

This is an interesting military style uniform for a toddler. Someone's mom went to a lot of trouble to make this using I'm guessing OD fatigues with the metal buttons. This is something I normally don't collect but for 5 dollars I couldn't walk away. The pants have a zippered front and side pocket just like the real ones.

Thanks for this information.

I'm unable to download further photos of other things I've picked up over the past month or so for whatever reason. I wonder if there is a limit to what you can post on a single thread?

Thanks as you never know what you will find at flea markets. It looks like things are working again and here are a few other pieces I found at the flea market. This 1970 dated ERDL camouflage uniform which I'm guessing was old stock reissued post war due to the later period USMC EGA stencil.
