I know that he served in ww1, ww2 (with 627th tank), in Korea and was later brig general But on the 627th tank history it is written : "Lt colonel Walter f Alt was relieved of his command of the 627th. He was transfered to Gen Gibson's command". This one had a name inside "Alt" and short message about the owner, which looks like is the same Walter F. Alt. However I am confused by the info "died Sep 28. 1943". What are your opinions?
