MCDUFF Posted January 30, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 30, 2015 An interesting recent pick up. I haven't researched his name, but an interesting color of paint used for his name stencil on his back. Does anyone know of the reason for this? Many thanks, Graham
Brig Posted January 30, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 30, 2015 Have you checked the muster rolls? Seeing his assigned units might help determine a reason

ViewfinderGyrene Posted January 30, 2015 Share #4 Posted January 30, 2015 Might have to do wit hthe type of unit it was, like Red for Artillery, White for Infantry, Yellow for Service/HQ troops...this was done with UNIS, but not sure if it would mean the same with a name stamp. Wonderful find Graham, look forward to what you find out!
