A Vietnam war era Kit Carson Scout patch

Hi all,
Here is a rather unusual piece.It is a US made patch that has been incountry "embellished" with the letters 'KCS",and "Triton".
This would have been worn by a NVA or Viet Cong soldier that had been "turned",and now worked on the US side as a Scout.

 

This is the only one I've ever seen that was made like this.

Has anyone else ever seen one of these incountry "embellished" KCS Triton pieces before?

I like the symbolism.The incountry applied lettering onto the US made patch is a "picture" of the enemy Vietnamese soldier "grafted" into the US unit! :)

Thanks for the comments!I'm happy to have it in my collection for around 14 bucks :lol:

Sounds like they were pretty common.If anyone else has one please post it here,I would love to see them! :)

Hi Gents,

 

This patch has always been a mystery until I came across this thread. Unlike the patch that started this thread the one I have is clearly embroidered by hand.

 

Thoughts on this patch?
