mvmhm Posted January 25, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 25, 2015 I decided to cruise the antique malls in case some more WWI uniforms showed up (and they didn't), but I did find a nice B1 bag in fantastic shape...material is great, zippers work, leather handle isn't busted, markings are sharp, etc. After I got home, I found that Francis Alonzo Winner was a TSgt who was shot down o/a 13 June 1944 and was a Kriegie at Stalag IXc. Sorry for the quality of the pictures, but it's inside and the lighting leaves a lot to be desired. It's marked the same on both sides. Also, the dark "dots" are from it raining here when I brought it inside. Mark sends
mvmhm Posted January 25, 2015 Author Share #2 Posted January 25, 2015 Here's the inside...the belt buckle tip has some minor corrosion to it, but otherwise everything is like new.
mvmhm Posted January 25, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted January 25, 2015 I didn't look inside when I found it, just checked the zips to see if they moved. When I got home, I thought to myself, "Self, wouldn't it be cool if his German dog tag was in the pocket?". So, I stuck my hand in, and immediately felt something in a plastic bag, and....wait for it.........a modern Air Force patch. Dang it.
