He works flea markets and gun shows and occasionally turns up some interesting militaria items. He thought that this may have been an older medal, and that the presentation box was old (he referred to it as a "coffin box"), and he believed that this might be a Second World War BSM. Unfortunately long ago he lost the name of the veteran that this had come from. Knowing that I was a BSM recipient for Iraq he gave this to me to look after. I really don't have any knowledge in dating these. My BSM came in a larger presentation box which doesn't look like this box. I didn't notice any particular marks or numbers on the medal.
