12A54 Posted January 28, 2015 Share #15 Posted January 28, 2015 In my entire life, I do not recall seeing a WW2 vet. actually wearing one. W I think it's an interesting observation. The WWI version (wreathed star) design seemed to be way more popular. Harry Truman wore his daily, even while President. Just like the Duck, the current (service-specific) pins are almost never worn by veterans and I suspect it's because no one likes the designs. The WWI pin was a classic design and applied to all, not specific services. Wish they would bring that design back into use - perhaps gold for retirees and silver for honorably discharged.
