Abandoned Harris Neck AAF GA

I spent Christmas with relatives in the Savannah, GA area. We hit a lot of tourist stops, but one that I really enjoyed was the abandoned WW2 Harris Neck Army Airfield.

It is now in a migratory bird refuge run by the federal government. The runways and taxiways are slowly reverting to nature but some are still used as roads or hiking trails. The only building remaining is an ammunition bunker now used for lumber storage.

Below I post a photo of the interpretive sign, 2 shots of runways and taxiways, and a shot of the old ammunition bunker.
