Found this pics a couple weeks ago and thought I would post them as they are the best Korean War aviation pics I have personally ever come across.

First an overview of them, then one of a cockpit. No idea which aircraft this is from, maybe someone will no with certainty. Note the gunsight. The third pic is of an F-86 which appears to have been named DEBBIE.

Some anti-aircraft troops and then more of the cockpit, maybe they are a bit better. I like the flight jacket the one GI is wearing.

It took me a bit to figure out what the squadron sign said, I could see 430th Fighter something, the BAR or what appeared to be BAR didn't make sense though, then I figured out its the 430th Fighter Bomber Squadron whose emblem that is. I suspect this is a headquarter quonset building, or something like that. From what I can tell the unit got to Korean in mid or late 1952 and appears to have stayed there until mid 1954 or so I think. They flew frp, Kunsan Air Base K8 and then Taegu Air Base K2. No idea which place this is.

The last pic appears to be of an armorer working on some guns.

Here is a seldom seen and little known Korean War aircraft. First time I have come across a pic of one. This is a Douglas F3D Skynight. They were used as night fighters in the Korean War and according to Wiki did have some night kills over MiG-15's. I cannot tell wh this one belonged to but did find on the Wiki page for this aircraft that Marine Corps squadron VMFN-513 flew them at Kunsan in 1953. Their pic looks very similar to this one in paint scheme and all, it appears all black.

This is a Marine Corps McDonne; F2H Banshee aerial recon aircraft. Note the photo nose on it and the squadron mark. The Marine Corps Aviation Reconnaissance Association notes that VMJ-1 flew these from K3 near Pohang starting in 1952, and that they were usually escorted by F-86's.

This appears to be a T-33. Threw me at first, the nose looks different, maybe because its a gun nose and all I have seen in person have always been trainers with no guns in the nose? By all means someone correct me if I am wrong.

Nice photos! Rare stuff!

The F86 "Sally" is from the famous 4th Fighter Interceptor Wing. The fighting cock on the side is the 334th Squadrons design.

This aircraft is a F-94B belonging to the 319th Fighter Interceptor Squadron in Korea circa 1952 - 1953.

The aircraft was credited with the first Mig kill using nightscope equipment in May 1953.

Great photos Mike!

The below site has good details on your planes. Looks like "Debbie" is still around, "Sally" was scrapped in Japan.

The cockpit pic, I am pretty sure is a F-86.. I was just looking at the DE ANG pics when they had F-86's...same cockpit...

Very cool pics of the Korean war and early jet age...

Would be nice to know what kind of antenna was in the B-26 as far as what kind of radar unit...used as a night fighter??? Have seen the B-26 in Korea, but mainly with the attack nose version....I have read they ran convoy attack duty at night....

I just noticed what I think is a RADAR dome or antenna in the nose of the B-26?

I think that's a SHORAN bombing and navigation dish in the nose. It was used for more precision bombing at night mostly.
