ArtyScout Posted January 11, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 11, 2015 This is my first post. I call my diorama "LZ" (Landing Zone). It depicts a Marine squad forming a perimeter on their landing zone after coming off a UH-1D 'Huey'. The Huey and figures are from Dragon, Master Box LTD and Verlinden. They were painted with Tamiya acrylics. The palm trees were scratchbuilt and the Huey was painted Marine Corps green instead of olive drab. I hope you enjoy these pics and all comments and recommendations are greatly appreciated and welcome.
Proud Kraut Posted January 11, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 11, 2015 Very cool dio, well done, thanks for posting. I especially like the "dynamic" and the very realistic atmosphere caused by using a matching background. Could you please post some close ups and an overview of the dio from a different perspective. ArtyScout Posted January 12, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted January 12, 2015 I'll take some more pics, because the ones I took are large in size and I'm limited to only 251kb to upload here. But here are a few more. I have some close ups but they are prior to the figures being put in the dio.

STONEY Posted January 13, 2015 Share #6 Posted January 13, 2015 Wow Manny, The angle of pic in the first shot had me do a double take. Thought it was a reference photo. Great job!

hueytaxi Posted January 27, 2015 Share #12 Posted January 27, 2015 Enjoyed this especially the Marines detail Only criticism is a correction on the Huey. the "D Model had the pitot tube on the nose while the "H" Model had it on the roof as does this one in the picture. The Forces of Valor 1:48 Huey is also incorrectly designated as a "D" Model. I have a similar display somewhere in this part of the forum from a year ago. It seems that Forces of Valor isn't the only one that got the pitot tube wrong. This model Huey is from Dragon and they're pretty good with their model accuracy, but I guess they made a boo-boo this time. I'm going to check out your display. Semper Fi. Art Posted February 5, 2015 Share #15 Posted February 5, 2015 I like this diorama a lot. The way you have the guys forming the perimeter along the edges of your display is very interesting and tells the story perfectly to me. Well done!!
