tolly Posted January 11, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 11, 2015 I know there are some very knowledgeable people here and have been helped many many times with id's Hoping someone can help again. I recently acquired this bomb drop mechanism set up that still functions and wanted to ask if anyone had any ideas of what kind of aircraft it would have been fitted in. The only markings apart from the 1000 LB and the 2 500LB levers. On the bottom plate it has the numbers 147599-10 and on the "arm" lever it has 147599-11 I thank you in advance for any help. Big Al Posted January 16, 2015 Share #3 Posted January 16, 2015 It could have been used with the SBD Dauntless. It did carry a 500-pound bomb under each wing and a 1,000-pounder under the fuselage.
Owen Posted January 16, 2015 Share #4 Posted January 16, 2015 I've not seen that in an SBD. I have seen photos of it in a TBD. Might have been in a -1 Dauntless, been a while since I sat in one of those. Perhaps other aircraft too........
