navyman Posted January 10, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 10, 2015 I normally don't buy kids uniforms but this is the best looking set I have seen and the rating badge is a beauty! There is no question in my mind that they use legit usn insignia and hat tally to make this set. The chevron are the same measurements as another cpo rate I have from that era. You can see that the rate is kind of big for the sleeve. The picture is a plus. Let the picture do the talking. I use the ebay photo's because they are well done.

sundance Posted January 11, 2015 Share #14 Posted January 11, 2015 You believe the uniform in the photo is the uniform you have? They came together? No name anywhere? It would be great to know the backstory. What would your guess be as to a date? The frame looks to be sterling also.

Wish you could see the other arm in photo. No name or date on back of photo, I checked. I say the insignia is around 1893-1897 or around there. The question is now when was the uniform made? It could of been made later 1900 or so I guess.
