Tailor made USN uniform for child with legit usn insignia and hat tally

Recommended Posts

I normally don't buy kids uniforms but this is the best looking set I have seen and the rating badge is a beauty! There is no question in my mind that they use legit usn insignia and hat tally to make this set. The chevron are the same measurements as another cpo rate I have from that era. You can see that the rate is kind of big for the sleeve. The picture is a plus. Let the picture do the talking. I use the ebay photo's because they are well done.

Sometimes they're even cut down from dad's whole uniform. My little boy was a WWII sailor for Halloween when he was 2. Must have belonged to the vet's son. They fella was on an older cruiser that did some convoy duty and helped hammer Southern France.

Looking for the following:

452nd and 447th Bomb Group items

Anything 12th Armored- especially uniforms

155th Assault Helicopter Company, Camp Coryell, or Ban Me Thuot Vietnam items[/center]

WWII US Navy Uniforms from the Battle Off Samar: USS Johnston DD-557, USS Hoel DD-553, USS Samuel B. Roberts DE-413, USS Heermann DD-532, USS Dennis DE-405, USS John C. Butler DE-339, USS Raymond DE-341, USS Fanshaw Bay St. Lo, White Plains, Kalinin Bay, Kitkun Bay and Gambier Bay...

You believe the uniform in the photo is the uniform you have? They came together? No name anywhere? It would be great to know the backstory. What would your guess be as to a date? The frame looks to be sterling also.

Yes the photo came wth the group. I think it is the same one. Wish you could see the other arm in photo. No name or date on back of photo, I checked. I say the insignia is around 1893-1897 or around there. The question is now when was the uniform made? It could of been made later 1900 or so I guess.
