twining540 Posted January 4, 2015 #1 Posted January 4, 2015 I received these two groupings within the past month and thought I would share them. These are my first armored division groupings, so I am especially pleased to receive these. Hope you enjoy. The first grouping belonged to LtCol Robert M Christie. I am still working through the pile of paperwork. So far I know he enlisted prior to ww2 served in a tank destroyer unit in ww2 and continued his career beyond the Korean war.
twining540 Posted January 4, 2015 Author #5 Posted January 4, 2015 I thought this second grouping was going to go unnamed until I found his induction paperwork hidden within the book, Otto A Buehler. I am not familiar with the collar insignia if someone could enlighten me. I only wish the other collar insignia hadn't been removed. I especially like this ike jacket. I still need to research this soldier.
David D Posted January 4, 2015 #9 Posted January 4, 2015 Great grouping! Was he with the 8th also during the war or was he with it post-war? -Dave
twining540 Posted January 4, 2015 Author #10 Posted January 4, 2015 I know he was with the 1st armored division attached to the XVI corps at Sendai Japan during Korea. I believe he was with the 3rd armored division attached to the 8th division at some point during ww2. He was also in Italy. He was with a tank destroyer unit during ww2 as well. As bad luck would have it, the person I received Christies grouping from sold his tank destroyer/ww2 uniforms before I got there. I have about 6 file folders full of paperwork to go through that should shine some light on what units, divisions he was attached with.

T1gertank519 Posted November 1, 2024 #19 Posted November 1, 2024 Do you still have the shirt? I now own the group, but when I acquired it from Kurt Smith, it did not have a shirt with it.
