Armored helmet with camouflaged shell.

Recommended Posts

After searching for quite a while, I finally found original images (from a newsreel) of an armored crewmember wearing his armored helmet with an M1 shell plus camouflage net and scrim.

He was part of the 3rd Armored Division (I tend to believe that, although not common, other tankers might have tried the same combination).

Maybe this practice was a little more common in open topped vehicles like M7 Priests or M10/M18/M36 Tank Destroyers.

This practice was not very common.

I made a display in my collection of this (see photo).

Thank you very much for your comments.

I found it interesting to mention as you do not see this a lot in footage and photos.

If anyone has other examples, please feel free to post them here
