Sully Posted December 31, 2014 Share #1 Posted December 31, 2014 I recently received this camouflaged M1 helmet. It is a late WW2 manganese rim rear seam. I've had it about a week or so and as I was looking for the heat stamp I was pleasantly surprised, it is a Schlueter. I had a terrible time trying to get a good picture of the "S". Always looking for WW1 28th Division; anything, papers, field gear, uniforms, etc.

FSBE Posted December 31, 2014 Share #5 Posted December 31, 2014 I agree, looks like the most recent coat is a Vietnam era repaint. Still a nice WWII Schlueter with a nice camo paint job!
WW2JAKE Posted December 31, 2014 Share #6 Posted December 31, 2014 looking at it again it looks as if the under coat was yellow then the vietnam green was put on thin, perhaps this is some of that yellow primer ive heard of but never seen? as opposed to the red oxide primer seen on vietnam era helmets "America shall win the war. Therefore, I will work. I will save. I will sacrifice. I will endure. I will fight cheerfully and do my utmost, as if the whole issue of the struggle depended on me alone." -Martin A. Treptow Jake L.
